Internship Program

Bealart is proud to continue and expand the internship program. This one of a kind program is intended to replace one Specialist Level studio with rigorous, hands on tasks outside the studio environment within the Bealart Department. There are 5 separate internship opportunities and successful candidates will be responsible for one of two internship streams which will be facilitated by their Specialist Studio Instructor.

The successful candidates will possess the following:

  • Follow instructions explicitly
  • Look for and execute tasks outside the directives
  • Ability to compile running logs of tasks
  • Word processing skills
  • Excel or similar skills
  • Available outside school hours
  • Driver’s licence (recommended but not required)

 

There are 5 Internships available:

Multi-Media Intern

The Multi-Media Internship is available to students who wish to gain real-world experience in maintaining and promoting the Bealart social media outlets. The intern will be responsible for attending Bealart related exhibitions, photo-documentation of events, Bealart social media and print materials. This position also includes a secondary, supervisory role during Portfolio day preparation in the Photography studio, assisting with documentation of student work as well as sign-out and return of all photographic equipment. The Multi-Media Intern will also act as the Satellite Gallery liaison between show coordinators and the Gallery coordinator. Student will be responsible to report to their studio advisor each week to assess the tasks completed.

 

Shop Technician Intern (4)

The Studio Technician internship is an opportunity for hands on application of technical skills within all the studios at Bealart. This role will require that the successful candidate coordinate time with each studio instructor in order to maintain and repair equipment found in each of the studios. The Intern will be responsible for general studio maintenance and cleanliness in an ongoing manner and will report to their Specialist studio instructor each week to assess the completed tasks as well as outline and schedule upcoming tasks. The successful candidate must be an excellent problem solver and be able to find solutions unassisted by the instructor. Currently there are 3 Shop Technician internships:

  • Ceramics
  • Printmaking
  • Photography
  • Sculpture

Candidates must specify which Technician internship they are applying for in their application.
